Crowd control in Australia

A site dedicated to crowd control, concert security and major events

crowd control
This site will contain an extensive information database on crowd control, riot control and containment of civil disobedience.

Our mother site Safecity has grown dramatically in the past three years.  Security, police and other law enforcement professionals have made Safecity their constant source of reference.

Many of the activities on this site are free to our law enforcement friends -- and so it should be!  Knowledge belongs to all.

Please visit the Certificate III in Security Operations website.  This course is due to be endorsed within the next six months.  Safecity will keep you informed.

The Certificate III in Security Operations is bound to replace the Certificate II in Security Guarding as a qualification for licensing. In NSW the class 1ABC security licence will continue to apply.

How to obtain recognition for qualifications leading to crowd control qualifications.

The current qualifications for crowd control officers in Australia are due to change.  The new Certificate III in Security Operations will replace the Certificate II in Security (Guarding) course.

All Safecity's students will have little difficulty in obtaining recognition for their qualifications.  This is because all of Safecity's courses are designed to exceed basic standards.

Crowd marshals and crowd control officers who have not completed our program may be still eligible for recognition.  Under the new Australian Quality Training Framework, all registered providers are required to recognise work experience and prior learning of candidates.

When the new Certificate III in Security Operations has been endorsed and implemented for licensing, Safecity will begin conducting recognition courses seminars and information sessions.

We expect that a few known unethical trainers will attempt to disseminate rumours about the new course in order to create an atmosphere of urgency.

Our advice is to do absolutely nothing until you are otherwise advised by your State licensing bodies.

Existing licensed crowd control officers and crowd marshals who hold a Certificate II in Security (Guarding) should not feel concerned about their licenses being cancelled or suspended.
